Our New Pooch
Apparently J.R. thinks he is part dog. One of his favorite things to do as of late is crawl around with things hanging out of his mouth. It is hilarious to watch. He'll sit there and make sure the object, whatever it may be (keys, tablespoon, teething toys etc), is nice and secure and then he'll just bolt off in his speed crawling to his next adventure. If the toy falls out at any point, he stops, sits up, secures the toy in his mouth and then will continue on his journey. Enjoy this visual documentation of such an event.

Little Jokester
My favorite video of all time: J.R. cracking himself up while trying to pull funny faces at mommy :)

Skeleton Boy
J.R. is working on mastering yet another skill. Standing unassisted!!! He's only able to stay standing for a few seconds, but it is still so crazy to see. We thought it would be fun to try and capture it in a picture.
And we failed many times...
But in the end, our efforts were rewarded :)
Sick Baby
We saw a lot of this face this past week.
Breaks your heart, doesn't it?! The frown was usually paired with some sweet whimpers. He was an extremely good sport during his bout of sickness. Continued to sleep so well...would usually wake up once during the night coughing and crying at which point we would go pick him up, hold him for a few moments and then put him back down. He would fall right back asleep, within minutes.
Oh he was so sweet during the days as well, but not quite his normal playful self. Except for a few brief moments. One of these moments came quite unanticipated...during bedtime routine of all things. Since it was pretty cold last week, we started wrapping him in a special sleep sack that we used back in the day to help wean him from swaddling...just to give him an extra layer. The sleep sack allows you to either keep arms out and free or swaddle them in. As we were getting his little body in the sack, we decided to just swaddle his arms right in and see how he responded. He loved it! He was calm as he had been the whole day! Just kind of laid on the bed and looked sweetly around. Very surprised parents! We thought he'd immediately try to squiggle his way out of the wrap. As for the playful moment mentioned above...we happened to catch it on video, so enjoy!

Pleasantly Patient
Oh this little boy is getting so BIG! Crazy. Probably because he is such a good eater. He loves pretty much everything he's given. Except... have tried puffs and small pieces of bread, and he'll have nothing to do with them. Even if I sneak them in his mouth on a spoon, he automatically makes an extremely displeased face and proceeds to try to get the foreign object out of his mouth as quickly as possible. We keep trying. Some day he'll learn to eat, right?? Well, here is the sweet one waiting patiently for his lunch while his crazy mamma snaps some photos. Love him.

In the Know
J.R. loves him some newspaper. Jeff will usually lay his paper out on the ground to read it each day. The moment the paper hits the floor, the little one will crawl his way as fast as he can over and snatch it right up.
**I love his little "pop" into a sitting position around the 50 second mark.
Tight Squeeze
There is a funny little shelf like thing that is at the end of our kitchen counter right by where you walk in to the kitchen. J.R. apparently thinks that going THROUGH the shelf is the only way to enter the kitchen. Funny because the shelf is about three inches off the ground but he still manages to pull himself up and through...at least once a day. Oh what a funny baby.

Teeth!!
So last Sunday, J.R. was chewing on my finger and I felt something that I thought might be some little teeth on his normally soft little gummies. Well sure enough, the tips of two little pearly whites (bottom middle) were barely poking through. Oh so precious! The amazing thing is, it was a complete shocker because he never acted fussy or showed any signs of teething (despite the constant stream of drool coming from his mouth, but this doesn't count since he's been a crazy drooler from day one!). Oh, and the boy has already begun learning about good dental care : )
At the Park
Some fun pictures that a friend took of our babies at the park a few weeks ago. What precious little things they are!!
This next sequence of photos cracks me up. So it looks like (1) little J.R. saw an opportunity that appealed to him (2) he went in for the kiss and then (3) was very proud of himself. Funny! In reality, the two little ones were sitting next to each other, Winnie tipped over, J.R. turned to look at her and then also tipped over. What cuties!
