Bumbo and some Tummy Time

J.R. is getting so strong!  Doing great at tummy time again (for a few weeks, he wouldn't even try to lift his head up...would just face plant straight into the ground), loves standing and is now starting to enjoy the Bumbo seat.

He usually starts off really strong and calm with his tummy time sessions...

And when he's had enough he's sure to let us know...

Nothing Sweeter

For the past few weeks J.R. has been a little smiling chatterbox full of all kinds of sweet sounds.  All you have to do is just make eye contact with him (which can sometimes be much more difficult than it actually sounds) and then he'll burst into smiles and begin a little conversation with you.

Swim Time!

Jeff and I made a little trip to Las Vegas last weekend.  What a fun trip.  One of the highlights was when we took J.R. swimming.  I was a little nervous thinking he might not respond well at first, but Jeff had faith in his boy.  He was sure J.R. wouldn't even care one way or the other.  Turns out...he was right.

Swaddle No More

We seem to be at a bit of a crossroads here.  Above is a picture of how our boy looks when he is swaddled...sleeping soundly and looking precious and peaceful.  However, the boy is too strong to stay swaddled these days.  As soon as we put him down, he'll just struggle to break out of the swaddle until he has succeeded.  The funny thing is, though, that once his little hands are free, he just sucks away on them...keeping himself nice and occupied (and wide awake) with this activity.  Here are a few pictures of how little J.R. has looked lately when we've gone to check on him during "nap" time.
