The big news around here...

Connor Debut

First Outing

So I made my first solo outing as a mother of two this past Monday.  And it was not completely horrible :)  We headed over to the beautiful Pullen Park.  J.R. was such a trooper.  We brought a dumper and digger for him to play in the sand with and he was just having a blast.  Connor on the other hand, being stuck in his car seat/stroller, was just crying away.  After about 20 minutes of him crying I told J.R. we probably needed to walk around a little bit to help Connor feel better.  J.R. said "Yeah, because that will help him to be so happy!" Sweetheart.  So we walked around the park with J.R. pushing the stroller.  So funny to watch him just pushing that stroller so fast...he was all business!

Of course after a while of pushing, we had to stop for a snack break.

Outer Banks

What a blast we had in the Outer Banks!  We got there Thursday afternoon and left Saturday.  Friday was a beautiful sunny day and we got a lot of good beach action/swimming in the morning.  Unfortunately we didn't bring the camera to that swim session so have no proof that we did actually get in the water :)  Here are a few shots from Friday night.

J.r. and Jeff were loving jumping down the sandy hill by the beach. So fun to watch.

Needless to say, the boy was a sand monster by the end of it and I think he still has sand in his ears that I just can't get out. haha!

The 4th

Started the day with a bike ride to a nearby state park.

Followed by a little swimming.

Ended things with a "picnic" at an awesome park.  

Beach!

We are so happy that summer weather is here! We made it out to the beach last weekend to kick things off. Loved it.  The boy couldn't have cared less about the waves and water, but he could not get enough of the SAND! He was literally rolling around in it like a dog at one point with a huge smile on his face.

Happy Fall!

What's fall without a trip to  pumpkin patch?! Actually this is the first year we've ever gone...but it was awesome and felt very fall-ish! :) 

Found a small green pumpkin right off the bat

...and carried it around with him as he surveyed the joint

...and rolled it down a ramp until it fell off into a corner where it was lost for good

...and then searched for a better pumpkin

Success!

Of course he managed to find a hoop...
